Piles of construction waste dumped near Muskoka Beach Park are being cleaned up by the property owner after an upset resident took to social media to highlight the debris.
A Gravenhurst resident brought the construction waste to the attention of the town on Tuesday by posting photos of it on Twitter. Town staff determined the debris was on an adjacent property owned by the Taboo Resort, so the town’s by-law division directed the owners to remove it as soon as possible.
Gravenhurst Mayor Paul Kelly told Country 102 that town staff met with Taboo’s superintendent to determine where the construction waste came from and what to do with it. Town staff also told Country 102 that, whether they were responsible for it or not, the resort is being compliant and will be cleaning up the debris as soon as possible if it hasn’t already been addressed.
