Penetanguishene Residents Are The November Soldiers’ 50/50 Winners

November 50/50 winning couple, Harvey and Jean Stevens.

Penetanguishine residents Jean and Harvey Stevens have more than 17,000 reasons to celebrate, as they are the November Grand Prize winners of the Soldiers’ 50/50 Raffle!

Jean was at a loss for words when she was told she had won.

“I’m just in shock”, she said after winning $17,560 in the November Soldiers’ 50/50 draw.

Jean’s husband of 57 years, Harvey, suggested driving to Orillia that day to confirm the news. Though Jean purchased the tickets, the couple has always decided that they share everything.

They are excited to give a portion of the winnings to their three children and grandchildren.

“We want our kids to use the money to get something nice for themselves,” Jean Stevens said, noting that her children are always giving to others and deserve the ability to treat themselves.

The couple will use some of the money for house upgrades, as well as purchase a new scroll saw for Harvey to create his knick-knacks.

Jean and Harvey Stevens chose to support the Soldiers’ 50/50 because they consider Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hosptial “one of the best” healthcare facilities in the region.

“We have friends who use Soldiers’, “Jean Stevens said. “They live near us [in Pentanguishene], but anytime they need a hospital, they make the trip to Orillia.”

The December Soldiers’ 50/50 raffle is already underway, and features a special $2,000 Early Bird draw this Thursday December 1st. With a winner every week, there are plenty of chances to win big.
