Parking Lot Collision Leads To Impaired Charges For Port Carling Resident

Bracebridge OPP has charged two drivers over the weekend with impaired driving.

On April 19, 2024 at 10:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to attend a commercial parking lot on Wellington Street near Monck Road in Bracebridge after a vehicle was spotted scraping along another vehicle in an apparent attempt to park. Officers attended and subsequently arrested and charged 19-year-old Shane Houle of Port Carling, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 14, 2024 to answer to his charges.

On April 21, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about a driver’s well-being after they pulled into a service centre on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst. Officers arrived and arrested and charged 41-year-old Kendra HISSON of New Tecumseth, ON with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 28, 2024 to answer to her charges.

The consequences for impaired driving in the province of Ontario, beyond the criminal charge, includes a 90 day drivers license suspension and a 7 day vehicle impound.
