Painting Stolen From Art Gallery At Screaming Heads Park

Recently a painting has been stolen from the private, permanent art collection at the Midlothian Castle Art Gallery, located at the Screaming Heads Park just outside of Burk’s Falls, Ontario.

For many years the public has been able to enter Screaming Heads free of charge (or by donation to the local food bank) and wander freely around the expansive estate admiring the sculptures and paintings of Peter Camani.

The bold intruder entered the private, off limits premises and removed the “Medusa” oil painting, undetected while Camani was talking with the many tourists that were there admiring his works. This painting was one of a favourited series using eyed butterflies. The collection sequence is now devastatingly incomplete.

This is actually the second painting Camani has had stolen. The first was an oil painting called “The Reporter”, also a part of a vast, now incomplete series. It was pilfered while on exhibition at the Winking Judge in Hamilton. A reward is now being offered for information leading to the recovery of either oil paintings.

If you have or know someone who has either of these works, Peter would like to ask you to responsibly bring it back to the castle, no questions asked and simply leave it somewhere safe.

Please share and let’s bring this beauty home to Peter Camani.

You can also conact the OPP or Crime Stoppers if you have any information.
