Orillia Resident Faces Several Charges In Relation To A Robbery

The OPP arrested and charged an individual with robbery, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement following an incident in Orillia.

On June 5, 2022, shortly after 2:30 p.m., Orillia OPP responded to a robbery at a home on Barrie Road. The victim attended a residence and was held against their will by an individual who brandished an edged weapon. The victim’s personal property was taken by the individual, who then fled from the scene on foot.

Police were able to locate the individual in a home a short distance away. After refusing to exit the residence, the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Crisis Negotiators, and OPP Canine attended to assist. Police closed a section of Dunedin St for a short time in relation to the incident. The individual was arrested at the scene without further incident.

As a result of the investigation, Stano Zibritovsky, 38 years of age, of Orillia, has been charged with the following:

·      Robbery with Violence

·      Forcible Confinement

·      Assault with A Weapon

·      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

·      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

·      Utter Threats

·      Fail to Comply with Release Order,

The accused was held pending a bail hearing on June 6, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
