The Orillia OPP have arrested and charged an individual from Orillia with impaired driving following a traffic stop in Orillia.
On June 22, 2022, shortly after 12:30 am, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation. Upon speaking with the driver an impaired driving investigation was initiated. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.
As a result, Joshua Darling, age 35, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear on July 7, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia. Their vehicle was impounded for 7-days and was issued an Administrative Drivers Licence suspension for 90 days.
