Orillia Resident Arrested Twice In 24 Hours For Impaired Driving

On September 5, 2024, at approximately 11:22 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver along Tie Road in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The involved driver displayed signs of impairment. Officers believed that the driver was impaired by drug. A Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE) was completed at the detachment.

The driver was issued a 90 day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On September 6, 2024, at approximately 12:11 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped an all terrain vehicle (ATV) on Campbell Street in the Township of Huron-Kinloss. It was determined that the driver was the same individual who was charged just hours earlier; they were once again placed under arrest.
