Orillia OPP Recover $500,000 Of Stolen Heavy Equipment


The Orillia OPP have arrested and charged a man after recovering several pieces of heavy equipment in Oro-Medonte.

On October 17, 2019, Orillia OPP, Orillia Crime Unit and Community Street Crime Unit collaborated in an ongoing investigation which has resulted in the recovery of over $500,000 of stolen heavy equipment, vehicles and trailers to date.

As a result, 44 year-old Hughie Quinn has been arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. The accused is being held in custody and is set to appear in Barrie Court on October 18, 2019.

The accused was involved in a driveway paving operation while utilizing stolen heavy equipment. Police are seeking anyone who has knowledge of the events or has seen any suspicious equipment.
