Members from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Criminal charges after reports of a possible impaired driver from a community member near Peter St. N and Missisauga St E in the City of Orillia.
Police received information that a male was trying to get on his motorcycle while showing signs of being impaired.
Police immediately attended and patrolled the area. After patrolling the area, police were able to locate a male on a motorcycle matching the description provided by the concerned citizen. A traffic stop was initiated. Upon speaking with the driver, officers noted numerous signs of the driver being intoxicated by alcohol and entered an impaired driving investigation. The male driver under arrest, the male was taken to a local Detachment where it was determined that he was impaired and registered three times the legal limit.

Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
In addition to the charges, the driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 14-days.
