Orillia and Lake Country Physician Recruitment is proud to announce its upcoming Medicine Career Day, scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2024 being hosted at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. This exciting event aims to ignite the passion for healthcare careers among high school students throughout Simcoe County, offering them a firsthand glimpse into the world of medicine and inspiring them to pursue careers in the field.
MD2B Day also known as Medicine Career Day will provide students with a unique opportunity to engage with professionals from various facets of the medical field, including admissions representatives, current medical students, and practicing physicians. Through informative sessions and discussions, students will gain valuable insights into the diverse career paths available in medicine and the steps required to embark on this fulfilling journey.
“We are thrilled to host MD2B Day and provide students throughout Simcoe County with the chance to explore the dynamic and rewarding field of medicine,” said Marino Fernandopulle, Chair of Orillia and Lake Country Physician Recruitment, “This event not only showcases the talent within our community but also empowers students to envision themselves as future healthcare leaders who can make a positive impact on their communities.”
By exposing high school students to the array of opportunities available in medicine at an early stage, MD2B Day aims to sow the seeds for future generations of healthcare professionals who will contribute to the well-being of their communities. Through meaningful connections and inspiring conversations, students will be encouraged to pursue their passions and consider a career in medicine as a viable and fulfilling path. This event has been held in previous years, with the last one hosted in 2018. We are excited to relaunch this day and provide information to students who are thinking of this career path. One of the presenters this year is a student in medical school that attended the career day in previous years.
“We believe that by fostering an interest in healthcare careers among our youth, we are laying the foundation for a brighter and healthier future,” said Melanie Delion, organizer of MD2B Day. “Our hope is that students will leave this event feeling inspired and empowered to pursue their dreams of becoming healthcare professionals, ultimately returning to their communities to serve and make a difference.”
MD2B Day promises to be an enlightening and transformative experience for all participants, as they explore the possibilities and opportunities within the field of medicine. The event represents a collaborative effort to nurture the next generation of healthcare leaders and cultivate a culture of excellence and service within the community.
