OPP RIDE Program On Hwy. 12 Midland Leads To Several Impaired Driving Investigations

An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on Highway 12, Midland on the evening of October 7, 2024 led officers of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment. into two impaired driving investigations only several minutes apart.

Officers at the R.I.D.E. program set up between Wye Valley Road and Franke Kindred Road observed a white Honda while on it’s approach turnoff onto Wye Valley Road at approximately 11:19 p.m. October 7, 2024. An officer immediately located and stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of this investigation, Melody Faith Gauthier 23 years of Midland has been charged criminally with the following driving offence.

A few minutes later at approximately 11:22 p.m. R.I.D.E. program officers arrested the driver of a Ford Edge. While conducting the at scene part of the impaired driving investigation, an open bottle of liquor was seized from the interior of the vehicle.

As a result, William Stanley 64 years of Port McNicoll has been charged criminally with the following driving offences.

The accused persons were released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 24, 2024 and was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension along with a 7-day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
