OPP Officers Investigating Late Afternoon Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Midland

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with County of Simcoe Paramedics responded at approximately 4:28 p.m. November 2, 2024 to a report of a single vehicle motorcycle crash on William Street, Midland.

The lone 37 year old male occupant of Midland was triaged at the scene and transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Investigations unit (TTCI) are assisting detachment officers into the cause of the crash. Investigators look into all factors that could have caused the crash including speed, helmet use, and the condition of the rider and motorcycle leading up to and including the time of the crash.

William Street in the area of Gloucester Street and Bayview Drive will remain closed for several hours while investigators complete their scene investigation and clear the scene of debris.

Anyone who may have dashcam video or an area resident with surveillance video of the crash or has observations of the involved motorcycle leading up to the time of the crash is asked to contact the OPP at 1-800-310-1122.
