OPP Investigate Serious Collision On Highway 60

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, shortly before 3:00 p.m. members of the Killaloe OPP, assisted by Renfrew County Ambulance, and the North Algona Wilberforce Fire Department responded to a serious two-vehicle collision involving two passenger cars at the intersection of Highway 60 and Bulger Road, in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.

Investigation has revealed the lone driver of one of the passenger cars was travelling westbound on Cobden Road, entered the intersection and struck the second passenger car that was negotiating a turn within the intersection, resulting in a T-bone collision.

The 21 year old driver of the striking passenger car was treated at the scene by paramedics with minor injuries. The 22 year old driver of the second passenger car was transported to hospital by ORNGE with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of this collision, police have charged the 21 year old driver from South Bruce Peninsula with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offences Act notice.

Both vehicles were towed.
