Officers from the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation following a complaint of a suspicious vehicle.
On October 2, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Huntsville OPP responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle near Muskoka Road 10 in the community of Port Sydney. Police attended and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
As a result Mark Lovegrove, 37, from the Town of Huntsville, was charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day license suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
