On March 31, 2019 West Parry Sound OPP was on regular patrol on Highway 400 in Carling Township. At shortly after 4:00 p.m., a northbound vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer paced the vehicles speed for over six kilometres.
The driver, Adam Cassar, a 23-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The driver is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court on April 30, 2019. His licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days.
Police did their job, well done! The courts and the law side of as in punishment well that remains to be seen! Just saying! Safe day to all first responders!
