One person is dead and another has been taken to the hospital after a shooting in Gravenhurst.
Bracebridge OPP responded quickly to a complex at 125 Lofty Pines Drive in Gravenhurst for the sound of gun shots at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14. An individual was outside of a home and shot two people. It is unknown who the victims are at this time. One victim was transported via land ambulance by paramedics and later airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital for treatment of injuries. The second victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, and other police resources attended the home to locate a person inside who reportedly had a firearm. Sadly, an individual going though a difficult time was located deceased by police inside the home a short time later.
The incident is resolved and there is no threat to public safety. The police investigation is ongoing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

Lofty Pines Drive between Muskoka Road North and Walton Street was closed for several hours.
