Officer Released From Hospital After Cruiser Hit On Hwy. 11

Huntsville OPP are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision.
On February 23, 2022 at 1:15 a.m.,

Fire responders and Huntsville OPP responded to a collision that occurred in the south bound lanes of Highway 11 near Geer Road, Port Sydney.

The collision involved two tractor trailers and a cube van.

One of the three drivers sustained injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital by Muskoka Paramedic Services with life altering injuries.

Highway 11 north bound and southbound lanes were closed to allow OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) to be on scene and investigate.

Northbound lanes and southbound lanes have since reopened.

On February 23, 2022 at 1:38 p.m. an OPP cruiser with its lights activated parked at this cordoned off collision scene was struck by a commercial vehicle on Highway 11 at Highway 141

The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

The officer inside the cruiser was transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

The investigation into the cause of both of these the collisions is ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.
