Twelve experienced police officers join Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments in Central Region after successfully completing their training.

The experienced officers celebrated their graduation during a ceremony today at OPP General Headquarters in Orillia. The experienced officers come from various police services in Canada, with 130 years of combined policing experience that will greatly benefit our detachments and communities.

The experienced officers have been deployed to the following detachments:

·      Bracebridge – 1 officer

·      City of Kawartha Lakes – 2 officers

·      Northumberland – 2 officers

·      Nottawasaga – 4 officers

·      Orillia – 2 officers

·      Peterborough County – 1 officer

Working with community partners and stakeholders to ensure public safety through a collaborative effort of crime prevention and law enforcement is at the centre of policing in Ontario. The combined 130 years of experience these officers bring to detachments in Central Region is invaluable. They will be a great resource to further enhance our commitment to provide exceptional frontline service. I welcome the 12 experienced officers that now proudly wear the OPP uniform and look forward to their contributions as they serve with pride, professionalism and honour.” – Chief Superintendent Dwight Peer, Commander, Central Region, Ontario Provincial Police
