Details are limited, but this is what we know.
The OPP have arrested and charged a 37-year-old woman with impaired driving after she picked up her 8-year-old child from a school in Muskoka while under the influence.
The woman picked up her child around 3:30 p.m. on April 10. Workers at the school, in addition to members of public, saw the woman and called 9-1-1. The woman was arrested and charged when she took a breathalyzer test that registered a blood alcohol content of 270 mg/dL, three and half times the legal limit of alcohol. The woman’s name has not been released and the OPP are not releasing any further details in order to protect the child’s identity.
Sergeant Jason Folz said he wants to thank the citizens who became involved and alerted police and reminds the public to call 9-1-1 if you suspect an impaired driver.
