Muskoka Community Futures Development Corporation is offering financial assistance for businesses affected by flooding through a specialized fund with loans of up to $25,000 available at zero per cent interest for up to two years.
Muskoka Futures operates throughout the District of Muskoka as a community-based, not-for-profit organization supporting businesses through advisory services and financial investment. Their specialized loan program will provide financial assistance for costs related to infrastructure, inventory, equipment, operations and other areas of need identified by business owners. Applications are being accepted immediately and will be treated as a high-priority with the goal to provide assistance as quickly as possible, according to Muskoka Futures. Applications for the loan program will be accepted until June 30 and in cases where a business demonstrates a financial need beyond the limits of the program, Muskoka Futures will consider applications on a case-by-case basis.
“As an organization that supports business development in Muskoka, Muskoka Futures staff and board members worked to respond quickly in developing a financial assistance program that would help business owners trying to find ways to deal with the impacts of the flooding and re-open their businesses” said Executive Director David Brushey.
