Muskoka Chautauqua, a Port Carling nonprofit that offers arts-based programs, is looking for volunteers as they sell the last of the tickets for their annual gourmet night of fundraising coming up on July 4.
Flavours of Muskoka Chautauqua support arts in education programs for young people and it’s the organization’s only fundraising event of the year. The night will feature chefs, wineries, breweries and distilleries, as well as a look at the programs and experiences offered by Muskoka Chautauqua. Organizers are looking for volunteers to help pack up and bring items back to the gallery at the end of evening around 8:30 to 10 p.m. The event will be held at the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort and Spa from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 4. Tickets cost $75 and only about 60 tickets are left on the Muskoka Chautauqua website.
“Muskoka Chautauqua seeks to provide a culinary and arts experiences which includes theatre-reading with professional actors, painting with professional artists, and enjoying the sounds of local musicians and their students,” said Kelly Hart, marketing and event coordinator for Muskoka Chautauqua, via email. “We seek to provide a sampling (or taste) of the various programs we provide as many people are unaware of the extent [of] our activities/programs offered.”
In addition to gourmet food and drinks, the event offers live music and a silent auction. Proceeds from the evening will go toward the creation of new creative programs to help strengthen personal, social and emotional well-being for young people in Muskoka.
“We’d like locals to know that this is a lovely event, at a fabulous location, and is all for a great cause,” Hart said. “It will be an opportunity to experience Muskoka’s best in one location for the 19th consecutive year.”
