Repairs to the Main Street sidewalk from Brunel to Centre Street are tentatively scheduled to begin after the May long weekend (the week of May 23). Exact dates are in the process of being finalized, however the repairs may take up to two weeks for completion with minimal disruption to pedestrians.
The new sidewalks have experienced deficiencies that require repairs. This is a normal occurrence and process for any construction or building project. The repairs will include taking up affected sidewalk panels, testing the gravel base beneath the sidewalk, and fixing any issues observed.
Residents are advised that Downtown Huntsville businesses continue to remain open and Main Street remains open to traffic and pedestrians. Please follow all posted signage throughout construction to navigate sidewalks.
