Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) unveiled a new strategic plan as part of their Annual General Meeting on June 24 at the Bracebridge Sportsplex.
The plan outlines new mission and vision statements for the organization, while also reaffirming their five values of accountability, respect, optimism, leadership and engagement. The new mission statement focuses on “outstanding integrated health care” and “delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion.” Their vision states that MAHC strives to improve the delivery of healthcare to communities and to be known as an outstanding place to work, learn and live and be cared for.
“Our focus will be on five strategic themes – Quality Care and Safety; Partnerships and Collaboration; Sustainable Future; People; Innovation and Technology that will drive us towards our vision,” said CEO Natalie Bubela. “To implement our strategic direction and its many components including capital redevelopment, operational priorities will be developed to help us achieve our vision.”
Board Chair Phil Matthews said the board is proud of where they have come from and is excited to work together with their partners to provide integrated healthcare as the organization adapts to the changing landscape of healthcare in Ontario.
“MAHC’s Strategic Plan serves as a forward-looking plan of action and a roadmap for today and tomorrow to help us achieve better health for everyone we serve,” Matthews said. “Through extensive engagement with hundreds of people, the plan reflects the voices of patients, family members, the community and the people at MAHC who told us what matters most to them about health care. Thank you to all stakeholders who participated in focus groups, one-on-one interviews and an online survey.”
