MacTier Resident Charged With Impaired Driving After Crash On Hwy. 400

On May 15, 2022 at 11:45 p.m., the West Parry Sound OPP, assisted by the Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 400 on ramp from Bowes Street in Parry Sound.

The driver was not injured. After speaking with the driver, officers concluded a drug had been consumed. The driver was arrested and transported to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment where further testing was conducted.

As a result of further investigation and with the assistance of an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Gregory Stonner, 48 years-of-age of Mactier, Ontario was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on June 16, 2022. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

This charge marks the 26th driver charged under Criminal Impaired Driving Laws in the West Parry Sound Detachment area in 2022.
