Lockdown and search at Beaver Creek Institution – Medium-security unit
On December 18, 2019, at about 1:00 p.m., a lockdown was put in place in the medium-security unit at Beaver Creek Institution to enable staff members to conduct an exceptional search.
The search was ordered to ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff and inmates due to a suspected throw-over of contraband that may have entered the institution. Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
Visits have been suspended until the search is completed.
So they just completed a search which allowed the inmates some air after 8 days and then they find an over the fence package that sounds to me like nothing got inside which is good news but another lock down? No one gets to see their family before Xmas. This is cruel and unusual punishment under the Canadian Charter of Rights section 12. Toxic environment for all the inmates.
lmao Relax Donna, they need to do what’s right for safety and security of staff and inmates. Nothing cruel and unusual about it, but nice try on that long shot.
