Local Philanthropist Honours Nurses With $25,000 Matching Campaign

Local philanthropist, Jane Brown Jackson gives thanks to RVH nurses.

Local philanthropist and proud RVH supporter, Jane Brown Jackson will honour the life-changing work of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) nurses, by launching her third annual matching gift fundraiser. Having received exceptional care herself from nurses and other care providers, she is inspired to give back and show her support to those who were there for her in the moments that mattered most.

RVH Foundation kicks off its “Will You #AnswerTheCall?” campaign on May 9 to celebrate National Nursing Week, and will continue until the end of May, with Brown Jackson’s generous gift of $25,000 matching the contributions of all new monthly donors for a full year. The goal is to welcome 100 new monthly donors before May 31.

“I invite the community to donate to RVH and become a monthly donor in honour of the courageous work done by nurses each and every day,” Brown Jackson said. “The healthcare team at RVH are primarily my super heroes. I want to show them my support and say thank you to those who have helped me.”

The majority of expansions, medical equipment and technology is only possible through the support of community donations, and monthly donations are an important source of reliable, sustained funding.

“Your generosity allows RVH to put the best tools in the hands of its nurses and care teams. Community support never fails to inspire TEAM RVH, including our nurses,” says Pamela Ross, RVH Foundation CEO. “We are very grateful to Jane for standing behind nurses, and for supporting patient care at RVH. It’s never been more important.”
