Local Climbers Qualify For Canadian National Championships

CLIMB MUSKOKA IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE
WE HAVE 3 ATHLETES HEADING TO THE CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Doran Smith (15), of Bracebridge, ON, has had an enormously successful second season of climbing. This year Doran has qualified to represent Ontario at the National Lead Climbing Championships being held in Montreal. The event is taking place between the 20-21 of May at Canyon Escalade. Earlier this month Doran competed in London, ON at Lead Provincials where he finished in 8th place overall and secured a spot at the National Championship for Lead Climbing. Doran will be one of 10 athletes from Ontario competing at this event.

Noah Gower (14), of Bracebridge, ON also had a very strong second season climbing with Team Climb Muskoka. Noah has qualified for BOTH Lead and Boulder Nationals. This year the event is being held at Bloc Shop Chabanel in Montreal between May 16-18, 2024. Noah will be competing against the best climbers in Canada proudly representing Ontario.
Sadie Brown (14), of Huntsville, ON has also qualified for BOTH Lead and Boulder Nationals. Sadie had an incredible season of climbing. At Lead Provincials in London, Sadie qualified for finals after a very strong qualification round finishing in a very respectable 8th place. At Boulder Provincials, held in Cambridge Sadie once again qualified for finals and finished in a very respectable 5th place overall.

Climb Muskoka is very proud of all of our athletes and the effort that they put into this season. 2024 is a very exciting year for the sport of Climbing! For the second time Climbing will be an Olympic Sport at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris
