The City of Orillia wants your feedback to help shape its approach to community engagement and the communication of municipal news and information.

“Effective communication is essential to ensure residents are well informed about City services, programs, and decisions of Council. As the way we receive news and information continues to change, the City of Orillia is committed to ensuring its communication and engagement methods align with the preferences of our residents,” said Mayor Don McIsaac. “Please take the time to fill out the survey. Your participation will provide us with valuable insights on how we can best communicate and engage with our community.”

The Communications and Engagement Survey runs from March 11 to April 5, 2024, and is available online at orillia.ca/communications. Hard copy versions are available at the Orillia City Centre (50 Andrew St. S.) and at the Orillia Public Library (36 Mississaga St. W.).

Results of the survey will help inform staff about what communication and engagement tools are the most effective for residents and potential new ways we can connect with the community.

“As a municipality, we touch on the lives of Orillia residents every day and understand the importance of providing clear, accurate information and meaningful engagement opportunities to Orillians. By understanding residents’ preferences and expectations, the City aims to optimize its communication efforts,” said Gayle Jackson, Chief Administrative Officer. “The survey results will play an important role in guiding resource allocation and future communication strategies.”

Individuals who complete the survey will be entered for a chance to win one of five month-long Fun Passes to the Orillia Recreation Centre.

Anyone requiring assistance completing the City of Orillia Communications and Engagement Survey can contact Melissa Gowanlock, Manager of Communications, at 705-418-3208.
