International Honours For RVH

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s (RVH) Corporate Communications team was recently recognized with two international awards for their work on an employee relations campaign and an internal communication plan.
“Everyone at RVH is extremely proud of our dynamic Corporate Communications team,” says Janice Skot, RVH president and CEO. “I am continually impressed with this small team’s creativity and ability to produce top quality work that showcases and highlights RVH’s many achievements.”
The team was awarded a Platinum Hermes Creative Award in the employee relations category for the concept, design and execution of the RVH Film Festival which includes a red-carpet award ceremony. The team was recognized for creating a campaign that supports a positive employee culture, instills a sense of pride within departments and the organization, as well as helps to embed and sustain the health centre’s vision, mission and values in a unique way.
The team also won a Gold Hermes award in the internal communication category for its Connect the Dots campaign. The recognition honoured how the campaign helped staff, physicians and volunteers make meaning of the health centre’s MY CARE strategy and how the work they do brings this strategy to life, ultimately improving the patient experience.
The Hermes competition, which receives approximately 6000 entries from around the world, honours outstanding achievement and creativity in the communications profession.
In the past decade RVH has been recognized with 20 international and national communications awards, including these two latest achievements.
RVH’s Corporate Communication team is: Suzanne Legue (Vice President Strategy, Communication and Stakeholder Relations), Jane Cocking (Manager), Donna Danyluk, Kaylee MacMillan, Denise Philpott and Jessica Dolan.
“We were extremely honoured to receive these awards,” says Legue. “It is a remarkable achievement to be recognized for products that RVH creates exclusively in-house on very limited budgets.”
