Impaired Drivers Keep Bracebridge OPP Busy

Bracebridge OPP have charged three people with alcohol related driving offenses over the course of the weekend in Muskoka.

On Friday shortly after 7  pm police conducted a traffic stop on Taylor Rd in Bracebridge in order to investigate the unusual behaviour of a driver. As a result, police arrested and charged 57 year-old male from Bracebridge with Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in his blood. The accused will appear in Bracebridge court on February 2nd.

Also on Friday evening police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Bethune Dr in Gravenhurst. Further investigation revealed the presence of alcohol and the driver, 22 years of age of Gravenhurst, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80. The accused will appear in Bracebridge Court on February 2nd.

On Saturday at 3pm police stopped a vehicle on Cedar Ln in Bracebridge and began an investigation into the related administrative details. Police subsequently arrested and charged the driver, a 51 year-old of Bracebridge with Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in his Blood along with several Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offenses. The accused will appear in Bracebridge Court on February 2nd.

In all cases, the accused drivers received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had their vehicles towed and impounded.
