Impaired Charges Laid After Minor Collision In Tiny Township

A Penetanguishene man faces impaired driving charges after his truck went into the ditch on the 4th Concession of Tiny Township around 7:30 p.m, on April 13, 2022.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say they attended the scene and assisted in removing the male from his vehicle. While investigating the collision it was noted that the driver was displaying signs of alcohol consumption.

A roadside screen test was performed and as a result the male was arrested and transported to the detachment to provide breath samples.

Ernest Schaump, 64 years of Penetanguishene was charged with Operation Over 80 mg

The driver’s license of the accused has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed to be impounded for 7 days. The accused was released from police custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
