Huntsville Resident Throws His Hat In The Ring For Town Council

Huntsville Resident Liam Broad is formally announcing his intention to run for the Huntsville Ward in the 2022 Municipal election this fall.

“I want to be a municipal Councilor to help the community that I love and has accepted me with open arms, and I know my skill set is best used in Town Council,” Broad said, “There are some issues facing this town that need to be addressed and I am the right person for the job. A top priority is affordable homeownership, where even just renting a habitable place to live is an unobtainable dream to many current residents and those seeking residence here. Secondly, quality high-speed wireless internet is an essential service for conducting business, is key for education, personal use and home entertainment. As a Huntsville Councillor I will advocate for this essential service to be accessible for all because it’s important tool for economic development and to improve the quality of life of residents.” Broad continues to say “I also want to make sure that people have someone to turn to when they need help and to get them that help or find a solution for them. In addition, let’s find a way to make sure that people know what is going on in their community and maybe foster involvement in local government that makes the most direct impact on their daily lives”

Liam has lived in the Parry Sound – Muskoka area for the last 10 years and has worked in both Federal and Provincial politics. Broad has a history of working on winning team with MP Scott Aitchison in both the 2019 and 2021, and MPPs Norm Miller and Graydon Smith during the 2018 and 2022 elections respectively. Experienced public service having Interned for MPP Norm Miller in 2020. His internship was responsible for reaching out to constituents during the first summer of the Covid-19 Pandemic and seeing if they needed any guidance or assistance and contacting the constituency staff to get them the help they needed.
