The Huntsville OPP participated in Canada Road Safety Week Campaign which ran from May 18th to May 24th. The campaign focused on the “Big 4” which includes seatbelt compliance, distracted driving, impaired driving and speeding.
The focus on the “Big 4” helps enhance the safety of our community’s roadways.
The following charges were laid by Huntsville officers during the campaign:
- Impaired Driving, 1 charge
- Distracted Driving, 1 charge
- Seatbelt Compliance, 6 charges
- Speeding, 352 charges
- Careless Driving, 3 charges
- Failed to Yield, 7 charges
Huntsville OPP officers participated in 7 Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check events throughout North Muskoka.
