Huntsville Hawks Minor Lacrosse Tag Day Has Lofty Fundraising Goal

The majority of this year’s funds raised for the Huntsville Hawks Annual Tag Day Fundraiser will go towards the purchase of much needed jerseys for Box & Field Lacrosse players. The current jerseys have been used by many players for over 8 years and are in need of a refresh. The total cost to purchase 2 full sets of jerseys for each Box & Field Rep team is just over $20,000.

“We want to ensure our players can proudly represent Huntsville when playing at a provincial level. We appreciate that this is a mighty goal, but we hope with the incredible generosity and support from our community, it will bring us that much closer” says Keri Black, President of the Huntsville District Minor Lacrosse Association.

New this year, the HDMLA has added a more modern way to collect donations on Tag Day. “We are excited to partner with TipTap – a touchless giving solution that allows donations through a simple tap using your debit/credit card or mobile device. It is becoming less and less common for people to carry cash nowadays”, explains Natasha Nieder, Director of Sponsorship and Fundraising for the HDMLA. “Of course, we will still gratefully accept cash donations as well” adds Natasha.

The event will be held Saturday May 27th from 8am -1pm, in front of the following businesses: Canadian Tire Huntsville, BMO, Metro, Bullock’s Independent, Shoppers Drugmart, Pharmasave, Little Place By the Lights, Family Place, FreshCo, Walmart, Huntsville Home Hardware, Freshmart and Dean’s Home Hardware in Port Sydney.
