On Tuesday September 3, 2019 at 9:28 a.m., Lake of Bays fire crews responded to a grass fire on Limberlost Road at Scott Lane with five trucks.
The grass fire was about a half acre in size on the side of a hill. The fire was water access only and the terrain made for difficult access. The fire was caused by a camp fire that had been left without being properly extinguished. Crews were there for about four hours and there were no injuries reported.
Crews remind residents that leaving your camp-site before fully extinguishing the fire can start forest fires.
