GIP Aggregates Inc. McCarthy Quarry was awarded the 2022 Community Relations Award from the Ontario Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association (OSSGA). The award recognizes leadership in promoting good neighbour relations, community involvement, education, and industry awareness.

Neighbour relations rank high among McCarthy Quarry’s priorities. Beyond going to great lengths to mitigate the noise, dust and traffic activity from its operations, the site is dedicated to making community improvements and to developing local highways and roads.

“Green Infrastructure Partners is proud to receive an Industry Recognition award for our McCarthy Quarry located in Ramara Ontario from the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association for Community Relations,” says Christian Dover, President and CEO. “We are committed to maintaining a positive relationship with our neighbours and being a valuable part of the community where we do business.”

The Quarry proudly contributes to the community by supporting the Ramara Chamber of Commerce, Food for the Poor Golf Tournament and local hockey teams, all of which is supported by their public outreach strategy.

“OSSGA promotes excellence among its members by encouraging them to efficiently run their operations, responsibly manage the land they work on, and actively participate in and contribute to their communities,” says Norm Cheesman, Executive Director of OSSGA. “The 2022 Industry Recognition Award winners have surpassed OSSGA’s expectation in fulfilling those objectives.”

OSSGA is a non-profit industry association representing over 280 sand, gravel and crushed stone producers and suppliers of valuable industry products and services. Collectively, our members produce a large majority of the approximately 164 million tonnes of aggregate consumed annually on average in the province to build and maintain Ontario’s infrastructure needs. OSSGA works in partnership with government and the public to promote a safe and competitive aggregate industry contributing to the creation of strong communities in the province.
