Georgian Launching Four New Graduate Certificates This Fall To Fast-Track Your Career

Georgian College is offering four new graduate certificates at the Barrie Campus starting this September. These programs will help students fast-track their career in just one year.

Four new graduate certificates being offered at Georgian College’s Barrie Campus starting this September will help students fast-track their career in just one year.

If you already have a degree or diploma, a graduate certificate can help specialize your skills and accelerate your earning power in a very short time. Maher Ghalayini, Georgian’s Associate Vice President, Academic, said these programs have built-in work placements or real-world applied learning opportunities providing graduates with the career-focused skillsets employers are looking for.

“We’re continuing to offer programs that help students gain specialized knowledge and skills to give them an edge on the competition to either move up in their current field or perhaps tap into a new career,” said Ghalayini. “Graduate certificates are a more targeted, cost-effective and fast-track solution and a great alternative to a master’s degree.”

Here are the new graduate certificates:

  1. Business Management: Specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills, as well as practical experience, obtained in this program will enhance graduate employability and long-term opportunities for advancement.
  2. Marketing Management: Students will acquire a wide understanding of marketing management fundamentals such as advertising, marketing research and data analytics, online/digital marketing, and international marketing management, enabling them to become marketing professionals who can effectively manage in business-to-business, business-to-consumer, not-for-profit, and government organizations.
  3. Mental Health – Interprofessional Practice: Professionals in the health-care field recognize that mental disorders, including addictive behaviours, play a prominent role in the many complex clinical presentations which all frontline clinicians face. Students are exposed to a variety of intervention options such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and will ultimately develop the skills necessary to effectively work with clients to deliver enhanced services with a focus on quality across a variety of settings.
  4. Supply Chain Management – Global: Never has it been more apparent that the global population needs a constant supply of goods and services. Students will gain global supply chain competencies by examining the connections between strategic objectives, stakeholder expectations, and supply chain design, functions, processes, and roles, preparing them for rewarding careers.

With the exception of Supply Chain Management – Global, the new graduate certificates are offered as both a full- or part-time option so students can continue to work full-time while studying. The mental health program is offered completely online.
