Former Orillia Aquatic Supervisor Charged In Connection To Historical Sexual Investigation

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one individual with numerous child luring and other child related sexual offences.

On September 19, 2024, the Orillia OPP received information regarding a historical sexual assault and child luring incident. Police were advised in that 2021, the accused was offering alcohol to a youth in exchange for explicit images. At the time, the accused was an Aquatic Supervisor at a Recreation Centre in Orillia.

On September 23, 2024, with the assistance of the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, members of the Orillia OPP executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Orillia.

As a result of this investigation, Manuel Marroquinn-Ramirez, 43-year-old from Orillia, has been charged with:

The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing.
