Fatal Snowmobile Collision In Algonquin Highlands

The Haliburton Highlands OPP are investigating a fatal snowmobile collision in the Township of Algonquin Highlands in Haliburton County.

On February 10, 2023, at 10:40 p.m., officers and emergency services responded to a report of a single snowmobile collision into a tree on an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) Trail between Little Hawk Lake and Big Hawk Lake in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.

The lone rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as a 37-year-old male of Lancaster, New York, United States of America.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists are assisting with the investigation.
