The Edible Book Festival returns to the Bracebridge Library only days before April Fools’ Day.

In the categories of professionals, amateurs, and children, participants will make their edible creations at home and deliver them to the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library between 10:00 a.m. and noon on Saturday, March 29. The judges will spend the next hour deciding which entries are the best before allowing the public to see the submissions from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The winners in each category will be announced just after 1:00 p.m. on the day of the event.

Cindy Buhne, Adult and Information Services Librarian, says the event allows the community’s creativity to shine through.

“Participants are encouraged to create their favourite book titles, book covers or book character using food,” she explains. “In past years, patrons have made some incredibly punny entries. While others showed off their baking skills and recreated scenes or characters from their favourite book.”

Registration for the festival is only required if you are entering the competition. Anyone interested in taking part can sign up on the library’s website.

Everyone from the public is welcome to attend and see the entries.
