Driver Charged With Impaired After Early Morning Crash On Hwy. 11

Orillia OPP have arrested and charged a driver following a collision on Highway 11, Oro-Medonte.

On July 12, 2021, shortly after 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on Highway 11 northbound between Line 9 and Line 10. A vehicle was located in the ditch and the male driver was transported to a local hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries at the time. The highway remained closed pending investigation. It was later determined that the driver’s injuries were minor in nature but officers were given cause to enter into an impaired driving investigation.

A Barrie Police Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) assisted with the investigation and as a result, Ross Milne, age 32, of Barrie, has been arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on August 24, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
