Driver Charged With Impaired After Collision On Hwy. 11 At Line 14

The Orillia OPP have arrested and charged an individual from Barrie with impaired driving after police received a complaint of a single motor-vehicle collision on Highway 11 at Line 14 in Oro-Medonte.

On March 27, 2023, around 8 pm, officers were dispatched to reports of single motor vehicle collision, where the vehicle was unable to navigate the off ramp turn and crashed into a wooded area. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Suzi Corbett, age 34, of Barrie, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle with open container of liquor (LLCA)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle- no licence (HTA)
  • Novice Drive- BAC above zero (HTA)

The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on May 2, 2023. Their Driver’s Licence was suspended automatically for ninety days, and the vehicle was impounded.
