Driver Charged With Careless Driving After Collision On Hwy. 60

The Killaloe OPP recently investigated two separate collisions which led to Highway Traffic Act charges for both drivers.

On February 18, 2023, just after 7 a.m., police responded to a single vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on 60 Highway near Lake Dore Road in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce. The vehicle was travelling westbound and suffered a loss of control resulting a rollover collision. As a result of police investigation, the 45-year-old driver from Killaloe was charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offences Act notice.

There were no injuries reported. One tow was required.

On February 15, 2023, shortly after 4 p.m., OPP Killaloe officers responded to single vehicle collision involving a passenger car on Palmer Road near McPhee Bay in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
The vehicle was travelling northbound, left the roadway and entered the ditch. As a result of police investigation, the 57-year-old driver from Palmer Rapids was charged with drive left of centre line, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offences Act notice.

Minor injuries were reported, and one tow was required.
