The District of Muskoka approved a $124,831,006 million tax-supported operating budget as well as a rate-supported operating budget for 2019 earlier this week, according to an announcement from the district on Feb. 22.

District Council established the $124,831,006 million tax-supported operating budget and a rate-supported operating budget, capital budget and forecast for Solid Waste Management and Water and Wastewater services. For residents, that will mean a 1.54 per cent tax increase on the district portion of their municipal property taxes in 2019, which translates to about $13.30 for a property worth $300,000 in Muskoka.

The 2019 budget focuses on “maintaining existing services and service levels across the District, while continuing to invest in transportation infrastructure, affordable housing, long term care and other Council priorities,” according to the announcement.
