ORILLIA, Ontario — A large police presence in downtown Orillia on Thursday ended without incident, following concerns about an individual in crisis near the city’s waterfront, according to an OPP press release.

Just after noon, officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a distressed individual. Initial information suggested the possible involvement of a weapon. OPP officers located the person and confirmed their safety. The individual was taken into custody without further issues.
