Crews have extinguished a fire caused by building materials placed next to a fuel-fired appliance after the Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in west Gravenhurst just after noon on April 6.
Stations 1 and 2 responded to the report of a structure fire at 140 Hill Street in west Gravenhurst. Units on scene reported smoke in the structure upon arrival. Command for the scene was established and interior crews searched for the source. All occupants were accounted for and safe. Crews located burning building materials next to a fuel-fired appliance and extinguished the fire, which has been deemed under control. Smoke removal and property conservation efforts are now being undertaken the scene.
The call was the second of the day after crews responded to a fire that destroyed a structure on Gravenhurst Parkway near the Muskoka Airport at around 2:30 a.m.
