Crash On Simcoe County Road 27 Claims The Life Of A Tay Township Resident

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment are looking for witnesses to a single vehicle crash on March 13, 2024, upon Simcoe County Road 27, Tiny Township that claimed the life of the lone driver.

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment were dispatched by the OPP Communications Centre at approximately 6:53 p.m. to a report of an single vehicle that had crashed into the north ditch of Simcoe County Road 27 just west of the intersection of French Road and Old Second Road North.

Officers were assisted at the scene by Tiny Township Fire Services, Simcoe County Paramedic Services to triage the driver who sadly was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP investigators have identified the deceased driver of the involved vehicle as a 31-year-old male of Tay Township. The investigation into cause of the fatal crash continues with the assistance of the OPP Central Region Traffic Management Team.

Investigators ask that anyone who may have witnessed the actions of the involved vehicle, a white Mini Cooper while east bound on Simcoe County Road 27 prior to the crash or of the crash itself or has dashcam video to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or opp.southern.georgian.bay@opp.ca.
