There were no injuries reported, but a cottage on Hamilton Point Road in Bracebridge was destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.
The Bracebridge Fire Department responded with paramedics and police at around 6 a.m. They found the the cottage fully involved with fire and flames when they arrived. Around 20 firefighters and four trucks were on scene from two stations at the height of the fire. The fire department said the back roads made the operation a challenge and they had use portable pumps for a water supply. Crews cleared around 10 a.m.
One cottage was destroyed and damage is estimated at over one million dollars. The OPP continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
