Collision In Huntsville Results In Two Drivers Being Charged


More on this story we first reported. Members of the Huntsville OPP were called to investigate a collision that involved two cars on Feb. 2 around 11:30 p.m, resulting in charges for both drivers.

The drivers fled the scene of the collision near 2158 Brunel Road in Huntsville, but police located both of them a short time later.

Justin Kirou-Griffiths, 19, from Huntsville was arrested and charged with the following;

  • Fail to stop after accident
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

Mark Griffiths, 20, from Orillia was arrested and charged with the following;

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Operation of a motor vehicle with blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
  • Fail to stop after accident
  • Fail to notify change of address, Highway Traffic Act section 9 (21).
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act section 2 (1) (a)
  • Novice driver with blood alcohol concentration above 0, Highway Traffic Act 44.1(3)  

Both drivers are scheduled to appear in court in Huntsville on March 6 to answer to their charges.
