Canada Day festivities are back, so dress up in your red and white gear and come celebrate on Friday July 1, 2022. Start the day long celebration at Muskoka Heritage Place with FREE admission from 9am to 11am, music, speeches, cupcakes and more! Residents and visitors can also look forward to a Canada Day music festival, BBQ and beer garden in Rivermill Park, and fireworks over Hunters Bay.

9am – 11am Muskoka Heritage Place:
For this day only, the gates to Muskoka Heritage Place, Village and Museum entrance (88 Brunel Road), will open at 9 am. Admission is FREE, until 11 am. After 11 am, regular admission and train rates apply. Muskoka Heritage Place will remain open until 4pm. Please leave pets at home.
At 9am, The Huntsville Lions Club will be cooking up their popular breakfast special of peameal bacon on a bun so be sure to bring cash for a tasty start to your day.
At 10 am on the Village Green, dignitaries, guests and residents will be welcomed by ‘Captain George Hunt’. Following a Land Acknowledgement statement, greetings will be shared from Huntsville Mayor Karin Terziano, Parry-Sound Muskoka Member of Parliament, the honourable Scott Aitchison, and Parry-Sound Muskoka Member of Provincial Parliament, Graydon Smith.
Following the official greetings and the singing of our national anthem, ‘O Canada’, led by Glen Reid, Huntsville Council will serve free Canada Day cupcakes and strawberry scones (while supplies last).
Guests are welcome to enjoy all that Muskoka Heritage Place has to offer until 4pm! July 1 is slated as Steam Up Day, with the first steam train run of the 2022 season. The last train leaves the Rotary Village Station (100 Forbes Hill Drive) at 3 pm. For more details on what to see and do during your visit go to muskokaheritageplace.ca.
12pm – 6pm Rivermill Park:
Join Hunters Bay Radio for a FREE music festival at River Mill Park in downtown Huntsville starting at noon until 6:00pm. There will be an incredible lineup of local musicians, a charity BBQ and beer garden.
Enjoy all that Downtown Huntsville has to offer with local food, craft beverages, heritage, culture, music, arts, historic architecture, shopping, parks, trails and free family fun.
10pm Hunters Bay Fireworks:
End the day at 10 pm with fireworks by the Huntsville Fire Department over Hunters Bay, musically matched on the Moose 105.5 FM Radio.
If it Rains:
In case of rain, breakfast, speeches, cake and strawberry scones will be moved to the Algonquin Theatre/Civic Centre at 37 Main Street East starting at 10 am. Updates will be posted on the Town of Huntsville’s Facebook and Twitter accounts on Friday July 1, 2022 at 7:00am.
